I didn&#8217;t recognise one of the <span style=\"color: #000000;\"><em><strong>beers<\/strong><\/em> in there, but by <a style=\"color: #000000;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.smithersofstamford.com\/gifts\/dashboard-jesus.html\">Christ<\/a> <\/span>they tasted bloody good. I&#8217;m not sure what was more refreshing &#8211; the ice cold <span style=\"color: #000000;\"><a style=\"color: #000000;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.wikidata.org\/wiki\/Q56139\">liquor<\/a> <\/span>whose remnants clung perfectly to the side of my <em><strong>glass or the sheer gumption<\/strong><\/em> to only serve up something a little different from the norm. <em>Judging by my wife<\/em> and traveling companions happy and slightly skewiff faces, their<strong><em> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.smithersofstamford.com\/barware.html\">cocktails<\/a> <\/em><\/strong>were pretty good too. &#8220;For clarity, <strong>the Black Dove<\/strong> has to be <em><strong>the best pub in Brighton<\/strong><\/em>\u2014who am I to judge? To confirm<span style=\"color: #000000;\"> <strong><em><a style=\"color: #000000;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.wikidata.org\/wiki\/Q56139\">B.Y.O.C<\/a> meaning<\/em><\/strong> Bring Your Own <strong><a style=\"color: #000000;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.wikidata.org\/wiki\/Q134768\">Cocktail<\/a><\/strong> and not Boycie\u2019s (<a style=\"color: #000000;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=qp5hxHPlTq8\" rel=\"nofollow\">this time next year Rodders<\/a>) as my <a style=\"color: #000000;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.wikidata.org\/wiki\/Q205972\">drunken<\/a> wife thought!<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><em>THE BEST COCKTAILS: <span style=\"color: #000000;\"><a style=\"color: #000000;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.wikidata.org\/wiki\/Q808266\">MIXOLOGIST<\/a> <\/span>In BRIGHTON<\/em>:<\/h2>\n<p>A two hour table with your favourite spirits and a highly trained Mixologist for company guarantees you the <em><strong>best cocktails in <span style=\"color: #000000;\">Brighton<\/span><\/strong><\/em>. I won\u2019t say anymore, <span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong><em>google it<\/em><\/strong>.<\/span> There\u2019s a few around the country, book a table, preferably in Brighton as its <em><strong>the best thing to do<\/strong><\/em> &#8211; you won\u2019t regret it. It\u2019s a quirky little spot, packed with vintage-style pieces that have a modern twist. I couldn\u2019t resist picking up a pair of <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.redwinglondon.com\" rel=\"nofollow\">Red Wing <span style=\"color: #000000;\">boots<\/span><\/a><\/strong> from this gem of a store. They also stock brands like <a href=\"https:\/\/universalworks.co.uk\" rel=\"nofollow\"><em><strong>Universal Works<\/strong><\/em> <\/a>and<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youmustcreate.com\" rel=\"nofollow\"><em><strong> YMC Clothing<\/strong><\/em><\/a>, which I\u2019m already a big fan of, so it was the perfect find for anyone into quality and style. And with a <strong><em>Universal Works sale<\/em><\/strong> on, I couldn\u2019t help myself\u2014I ended up leaving with a few <a href=\"https:\/\/www.smithersofstamford.com\">bags of shopping<\/a>!&#8221;<\/p>\n<h2><em>THE ARTICE RESIDENCE HOTEL:<\/em><\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"0\" data-end=\"363\">\u2019ll leave you with one last nod to the lovely Brighton. We stayed at <strong data-start=\"70\" data-end=\"94\">The Artist Residence<\/strong> in Regency Square, and I cannot recommend it enough. You know when you stay in some places, and it\u2019s just been done so perfectly that you wouldn\u2019t change a thing? Well, it&#8217;s one of those places\u2014<strong data-start=\"289\" data-end=\"360\">unbelievably cool and quirky with just the right amount of attitude<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"365\" data-end=\"553\">The bar was a standout, decked out with <strong data-start=\"405\" data-end=\"440\">vintage d\u00e9cor and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.smithersofstamford.com\/lighting\/tiffany-lamp.html\">Tiffany glass stained lamps<\/a><\/strong>, setting the perfect mood for a laid-back evening. Plus, they serve up<strong data-start=\"514\" data-end=\"538\">\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/maxinebrady.com\/2024\/02\/10-of-the-best-brighton-coffee-shops\/\">the best coffees in Brighton. <\/a><\/strong>There are a few <a href=\"https:\/\/www.artistresidence.co.uk\" rel=\"nofollow\"><strong>Artist Residence<\/strong><\/a> locations around, so seek one out next time you\u2019re planning a <strong data-start=\"609\" data-end=\"666\">weekend away<\/strong>. I think the only thing that would improve the hotel\u2019s style would be a smattering of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.smithersofstamford.com\/furniture.html\"><strong data-start=\"753\" data-end=\"775\">Smithers furniture<\/strong><\/a>. I know people, it\u2019s a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.smithersofstamford.com\/gifts\/creepy-rabbit-mask.html?ssa_query=scary\">scary<\/a> thought, but believe me, no one was more scared than Mr <a href=\"https:\/\/www.smithersofstamford.com\">Smithers<\/a>. Turns out, I\u2019m a bit of a natural!<\/p>\n<h3><em>THE ACID SOFA LOVE IT OR HATE IT:<\/em><\/h3>\n<p>Yes, the original <span style=\"color: #000000;\"><a style=\"color: #000000;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.wikidata.org\/wiki\/Q7926148\">Victor Meldrew<\/a><\/span> can turn on the charm in front of the lens you know!! We took delivery of the aforementioned <a href=\"https:\/\/www.smithersofstamford.com\/home\/the-acid-sofa.html\">Acid Sofa<\/a>, the striking <a href=\"https:\/\/www.smithersofstamford.com\/money-for-nothing\/retro-armchair.html\">Guatemalan Chair<\/a> and a rather dapper looking <a href=\"https:\/\/www.smithersofstamford.com\/home\/the-dac-radio.html\">Bush DAC 1940\u2019s Radio<\/a> that now flaunts itself as a modern day docking station. All items are now available to buy from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.smithersofstamford.com\/neon-signs.html\"><em><strong>Smithers<\/strong><\/em><\/a>.\u00a0You&#8217;re fully aware of my love for the <em><strong>Acid Sofa<\/strong><\/em>. T\u2019is but a thing of raw beauty and the ultimate talking point. However, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.smithersofstamford.com\/money-for-nothing\/retro-armchair.html\">Blue Guatemalan Chair<\/a> equally holds its own and has also been totally redesigned by <em><strong>The Ministry of <span style=\"color: #000000;\"><a style=\"color: #000000;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.wikidata.org\/wiki\/Q1123578\">Upholstery<\/a><\/span><\/strong><\/em> in <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong><a style=\"color: #ff0000;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.wikidata.org\/wiki\/Q18125\">Manchester<\/a><\/strong><\/span>. Hard to believe this azure delight was found in a skip! The eye catching Aztec fabric it\u2019s re-upholstered in comes from <em><strong>A Rum Fellow London<\/strong><\/em> and is the perfect backdrop to the bulky hardwood Teak frame.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-451 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.smithersofstamford.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/retro-blue-armchair.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"562\" height=\"1000\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.smithersofstamford.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/retro-blue-armchair.jpg 562w, https:\/\/www.smithersofstamford.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/retro-blue-armchair-169x300.jpg 169w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 562px) 100vw, 562px\" \/><\/p>\n<h3><\/h3>\n<h3><em>MONEY FOR NOTHING:<\/em><\/h3>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.smithersofstamford.com\/money-for-nothing\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Money for Nothing presenter Sarah Moore<\/span><\/a><span style=\"color: #000000;\"> and I happily chatted away at Smithers HQ about these <a style=\"color: #000000;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.smithersofstamford.com\">amazing products<\/a> whilst the cameras rolled (I made sure they got my best side), and the transformations these once discarded items had gone through. Made from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.smithersofstamford.com\/living-room\/walnut-sideboard.html?ssa_query=walnut\">walnut<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.smithersofstamford.com\/upcycled-retro-furniture\">Upcycled into<\/a> a modern day <strong><em><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><a style=\"color: #000000;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.wikidata.org\/wiki\/Q1233773\">IPod docking<\/a><\/span> BOOMBOX station<\/em><\/strong>, you\u2019ll love the grunt of the low wattage valve amp combined with the austere finesse of the 40\u2019s. Its a proper grown up boys toy, with a just the perfect amount of understated cool.
