Guatemalan Retro Armchair

First time we set eyes on this funky blue patterned retro armchair, it was love at first sight, but its definitely a armchair that grows on you - loving it more every time I saw it.

This really is one awesome armchair that is beyond comfy! The very first time I sat in it, I sank into its luxurious soft feel, and the arms are so big I felt like Captain Kirk travelling at warp speed!

The Fabric combination blends with Flores brocade with authentic hand-crafted Talisman Irate fabric. The Tahul brocade is woven by Maya textile artists on a backstop loom, the pattern is of hand stitched across the weft as the base fabric is simultaneously woven.

By this old ancient technique, it takes over one month to achieve a narrow panel of the intricate fabric. 'It really is art on a cloth'

The ikat is also produced entirely by ancient methods, the pattern is bound into the raw yarn, which is then dyed, then set upon a pedal loom to be woven by hand.
