Good Morning Class of 2015, and welcome to The School of Smithers!
This morning we’re going back to basics—so sharpen those pencils, tuck in your shirts (or don’t), and prepare to revise your A, B, C’s. We’ll be covering everything from our boldest funky retro furniture to the kind of quirky gifts that raise eyebrows—and pulses.
And yes, we’ll be touching on the brightest topic of all: neon signs. If your space isn’t glowing with attitude, consider this your warning slip.
Those of you found lacking in quirkiness may have to stay behind and face detention in the Neon Lab. So eyes down, fingers on lips, and let’s begin—Smithers style.
A – is for Aviator Furniture

R – is for Retro.
The word retro actually comes from the Latin prefix retro – meaning backwards or in past times which would easily explain how retro style refers to trends of a bygone era. Smithers loves nothing more than stumbling across a quirky new piece with a retro twist.
S – is for Stamford.
Beautiful, little market town, voted the best place to live in Britain and home to Smithers. Having travelled the world, there’s no other place we’d rather call home!

That would be the X-Ray that was required when I dropped a New York Loft Dining Table on my foot! Proof that our products are solid, heavy and well made. This almost made it into the O for Oh bollocks category but I fear my language may have gone up a level on this occasion!
Y – is for Yes!
It’s not just for the Man from Del Monte – at Smithers we strive for all that is yes and believe everything and anything is possible! No, nope, never, no way and absolutely not just aren’t on our radar!
Z – is for Zebra.
