I'm a big fan of iconic, vintage accessories and our Herbie Model Beetle Car ornament emblazoned with the classic number 53 is no exception to this. Models like this are easily obtainable when visiting places like the sea side but our Herbie Car is of far superior quality, as you would expect from the Smithers of Stamford brand! The photographs showcase the sublime interior detailing - these really are collectable pieces.
The tin plate car is made from steel and aged by a highly talented artist to bring you these lovely cars from the vintage films - they make a great piece of movie memorabilia for your office desk or man cave. The detailed design even boasts of rolling wheels, that almost look real!
Herbie is an 1963 Volkswagen Beetle, a quirky character that was featured on several Disney movie film pictures starting with the iconic vintage 1968 feature film The Love Bug.
Herbie had a mind of his own and was capable of driving himself, and a serious contender for auto racing competitions. Throughout most of the franchise, Herbie is distinguished by red, white, blue racing stripes from the front to back end bumper, a racing-style number 53 on the front boot, doors, and engine lid, and a yellow and black 63 California number plate that was OFP 85.
